Directions from Asheville Airport (Exit 40) to Anne Elizabeth Suratt Nature Center

GPS 450 Aden Green Road, Mill Spring, NC 28756. That will get you close to the correct driveway on your left.

Go east on I-26 to exit 67 (exit for Rutherfordton, Columbus, Tryon, etc.), and then take the left fork of the exit (Highway 74) toward Forest City and Charlotte. Take the first exit off Highway 74 (Exit 163) to Mill Spring. Turn left on Highway 108. Go 3 miles to light at Highway 9. Turn left (north) on Highway 9 toward Lake Lure. Go 5 miles to McGuinn Road on the right (McGuinn's Exxon station is on the right corner). Turn right and go1 mile to Big Level Road at dead end stop sign. Turn left and go 2/10th mile to Aden Green Road on the right (you will see a fenced pasture immediately on your left). On Aden Green Road, go 3/10ths of a mile to Wood Thrush Lane on the left, where you will see the Nature Center sign. Go through the gate and turn left to the parking lot for the Nature Center.

Take 108 from Columbus to highway 9. Turn left (north) toward Lake Lure. Go 5 miles on Highway 9 to McGuinn Road, just past McGuinn's store. Turn right and go one mile to end of road. At stop sign turn left on Big Level Road. Go 2/10ths of one mile to Aden Green Road on the right across from horse farm. Turn onto Aden Green Road and go 3/10ths of one mile to signs on the left ("Walnut Creek Preserve" and "Nature Center"). Turn left on Wood Thrush Lane and go through gate, following signs for the Nature Center.

From Larkins and points near Larkins at the lake: Take Highway 9 South past Ingles 2.5 miles to Big Level Road on the left. Turn onto Big Level and go 1.3 miles to Aden Green Road on the left opposite horse farm. On Aden Green Road go 3/10ths of one mile and look for Wood Thrush Lane on the left. Turn left here and go through the gate, following sign to the Nature Center.

From Bill's Creek or points near there: Take 64/74A toward Rutherfordton 2 miles to Rock Springs Road (Past 12 Mile Post entrance and boat storage area). Turn right on Rock Springs Rd over the Broad River and go 4.3 miles to the dead end. Turn right on Big Level Road. Go 2 miles to Aden Green Road on the right opposite horse farm. On Aden Green Road go 3/10ths of one mile and look for Wood Thrush Lane on the left. You will see two signs: "Walnut Creek Preserve" and "Nature Center". Turn left here and go through the gate, following sign on Conservatory Lane to the Nature Center. Parking is on the right.
